Lessons from a Cockroach
I have always hated cockroaches and so imagine my revulsion as I saw THE BIGGEST COCKROACH EVER as I left the gym just now. I thought to crush it, then had a moment to wonder what message its appearance might be bringing me….And as I Googled “Cockroach totem”, half thinking there could never be anything on this, to my surprise, I found numerous sites! From www.Linsdomain.com I got fabulous insights and messages that resonated, like:
- “Clean out the dead and useless aspects” of your life
I had spent some time this past weekend clearing away old, unneeded things in the apartment…as well as making a pledge for a “no complaints” day. Both of these activities opened up space for more joy and peace in my current life!
And:
- “People with this totem often find that they had an abbreviated childhood – a premature movement into adulthood, the necessity to take on early responsibility.”
This is SO my experience! And lately I have been listening to Esther Hicks, a channel for Abraham (LOTS of clips on YouTube), as well as receiving more Dr. Martha Beck wisdom from her latest course, “The Integrity Cleanse”, and am deeply aware of how I have been WAY over-focused on meeting other people’s needs and people-pleasing as I have limited my own voice and set-aside focusing on my own desires and dreams. I have made significant progress over the years, and yet still fall into these familiar traps way too often.
And:
- “Cockroach teaches us how to use what we have available to us for survival….Cockroach is actually a gifted teacher in the art of survival and adaptability, especially in environments that may seem a bit hostile.”
And so I am feeling deeply grateful for Cockroach and all I have learned in my life that helps me assess situations, listen to my inner self and intuition, and choose how I want to respond for the highest good of all (including me) as I live in an ever-changing, increasingly complex world.
I wish you presence and awareness to notice and to explore the messages you are receiving in your life today! And hope you do not dismiss the insights just because they come in the form of a cockroach!
